Толстый ящик

Подскажите плиз - каким макаром из почтовых папок удалить старые письма.
Проверял несколько раз, удаляю порядка 1000 писем из рассылки, объем папки не меняется, вывод - они остаются, а между тем, этот объем за 1.5 года разросся до 600 мб. Как-то некарасиво это все. Очень напоминает ситуацию с Батом , когда не устанавливаешь на папку галочку - удалять старые письма. Неудобно блин. Может утлиты есть какие-нибудь?

brod - самый умный?
Сейчас провел такой эксперемент, папка
Opera75\Mail\store\account1\*.mbs
весит 422 MB, сделал экспорт папки входящие, получил файл в 90 Mb.
Для подтверждения теории - импортнул в БАТ самый толстый файл из папки акаунта - и обнаружилась куча старых писем, которые опера не отображает.
Девятка зафиналится, попробую - экспортнуть, может отфильтрует старье.

Таже фигня. Причем прикол: стоит 2 оперы в разных папках - моя и папика. При удалении писем в первой опере папка почты не уменьшается, в другой уменьшается.

А какая версия оперы ?
Я юзаю 7.54u2, заточил под себя, пока не хочу обновлять, жду девятки.

Моя: 8.54, отца 8.53. Сегодня немного поэксперементировал - если удалить много писем (около 300), то размер папки уменьшается. Скорее всего у меня это не баг, а своеобразное кэширование.

Кэширование, хм. я мочил файло с вложениями по несколько метров - объем не изменяется.

Не обижайся.По твоему вопросу не понятно,как ты удалял письма.У меня такая же фигня.При объёме 15,9 мег в ящиках mail весит 64 Мега.Чего он там куркует непонятно.

finally I get some time and peace to take care of this problem. Due to the type of organisation I have, I must say that it's quite easy to solve (it doesn't mean that the organisation was good, only that I was lucky).
Here is a resume of the problem:
- I've sent sometimes lots of copies of an email with 2,5Mb. The Mail was saved as a draft, and sent repeatedly with the "d" command. Opera mistakenly saved each copy in the corresponding mbs file, although the mail wasn't visible in opera. The mails were deleted from opera, but not from the mbs files. That caused some files to have between 100Mb and 500Mb.
And the sollution I have:
- the mails belong to my Account03
- I've been going through this on a month per month basis. Then each mbs file is cleaned up at a time.
- a few days before doing this I updated my lexicon folder - I deleted the folder, and opera indexed all mails when it started afterwards. That might have been important, I think:
- go to the Posteingang (inbox? sorry I am in germany) and set to view ALL messages (deleted, filtered, etc. etc.)
- make a new filter with f.e. 2005-11 for November 2005 (duh)
- copy all messages from Nov 2005 from inbox to that filter
- remove all messages from other accounts from the 2005-11 filter
- I am lucky that I don't use the "filtered messages" feature. then all messages from the inbox will be shown in the filter as well.
- when I have only the messages from the relevant account (account03), export them as .mbs [the size difference is something like 80Mb -> 1200Kb!!!]
- close opera
- remove original, big fat 2005-11.mbs from mail/store/account03
- open opera. you can see that the files from the 2005-11 filter are all blank - the space is there, but nothing inside
- import the previously exported .mbs file, with the account you had
- you can check, the new imported filter will have the same amount of messages as the old 2005-11 filter. The first will have the full messages, the other will have only blank spaces.
- all the messges will be there. then it's up to you to take them to the previous filters, in case they were there [again, it works fine for me because I don't keep that many messages, I just export and archive something when I'm done with it]
- delete the blank messages of the 2005-11 filter, and then delete the filter.
- Important: this was only for the received messages. For the sent messages you have to import **only** the sent messages from the original, bloated -mbs file. And again, go look for the blank messages and delete them.
-> do the same for another month, until you're happy
